American Overcomes Fears of Dating Ukraine Women

“I decided—I’m going to Ukraine.”

That’s what Joseph, a tour participant, said about his decision to go on one of Foreign Affair’s romance tours to Ukraine.

Traveling to Ukraine or any foreign country can be a daunting prospect. It can be especially so when it’s a trip to meet single Ukrainian women.

Joseph also expressed some concern about the conflict in Ukraine. But he did further research on the specific places that he wanted to visit and decided that he’d be safe enough going on the trip. He went online and checked out Ukrainian tour guides. The more he learned, the less he was afraid.

He also walked around Kiev and saw families, including little children, milling about. Seeing those families out and about like life was normal, Joseph came to the realization that, if they were fine living their lives in Ukraine, then he’d be fine visiting for a short time.

Another reservation that Joseph brought up was the language barrier, which is to be expected. Joseph expressed the sentiment that being on edge when going somewhere new was to be expected.

He was mainly concerned that he’d have to potentially deal with two foreign languages (Ukrainian and Russian) and that English would not be widely spoken, which it wasn’t especially in Nikolaev, where Joseph didn’t encounter anyone who spoke English.

Despite that concern, Joseph felt as if going to Ukraine was a journey that he was ready to take. It took him a while, about six months, before he decided.

And while he expressed concern about getting around the various cities that he visited, that fear proved to be baseless thanks to ride-sharing apps and good, old-fashioned walking.

In fact, walking was Joseph stated that his main method of transportation and he realized that it would be, so he conditioned himself by taking walks at home before departing for Ukraine.

One other thing that Joseph had to be concerned with was that there were women that he’d meet who weren’t on the A Foreign Affair dating website for the right reasons, that he’d meet someone who was playing games. In the end, he realized that most of the women were just trying to meet someone like he was.

Ultimately, despite his many concerns, Joseph took a trip to meet singles in Ukraine and he expressed no regrets regarding his trip to meet Ukrainian single women.
