• Always try their cuisines. One thing locals are always proud to share with their foreign visitors is their national cuisines. Bandeja Paisa for Colombia, Pelmeni for Russia, Adobo for the Philippines, and so on and so forth.

A country’s cuisine is a big part of their way of life. These foods are always present in major celebrations and it is something they usually crave every once in a while, and it will serve you positively to try it out yourself.

It’s just a win-win situation in general. If you end up liking it, you’ll understand the craze behind the delicacy and you will have a new favorite dish to add to your list, and if it is not to your liking, at least you’ve experienced the country’s signature dish.

• Ask the locals for places to visit, and go to the locations you have not read online. When traveling to a foreign country, most people generally research tourist spots beforehand. While there is nothing wrong with that, it is encouraged still, there will be places of wonder only locals will know about. Whether the place just opened, or recently discovered, or secretly kept, there are things you won’t find online which only locals can point you towards.

Befriend the locals and ask for a place to visit. You might stumble upon a hidden wonder.

• Experience the nightlife. A party will always be a party, but a city can party differently from another. Always try to experience whichever city you are in. You can get the chance to meet the local singles there, or just see a party culture in that specific city. That is always a sight to behold, and you will always have a great time.
• Befriend the locals. Meeting new people and making new friends are just some of the benefits of traveling. You get to know so many people with different personalities and beliefs, and you get to know the way of life of the people from the people themselves.
